Gov. Matt Mead: Diversification crucial to future

Gov. Matt Mead doesn’t think there will be more budget cuts prior to the 2017 legislative session, but emphasized Monday the state should reconsider dipping into Wyoming’s Legislative Stabilization Reserve Account or rainy day fund.

“I’m not a weatherman, but it’s raining in Wyoming,” he said at Monday’s Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce luncheon. “We will be fiscally conservative, but we have to be fiscally smart.”

He said he would dip into the funds to help cities, towns and counties.
