Upton Women Inspiring New Generation of Female Leaders!

News, Blog
We have so many strong women who contribute an immeasurable amount to Upton. From business owners to community movers and shakers, they are all inspiring the next generation of female leaders!
There’s no better time to tip our hats to their community contributions than with a huge shout-out following National Family Owned & Operated Business Day, which took place in June.
Upton Economic Development Board (UEDB) is proud to support our amazing network of female leaders, whose hard work makes life a little sweeter for all of us. Whether it’s connecting them with the Wyoming Small Business Development Center for funding opportunities or helping with workforce programs, we’re here to help in any way we can!
Small Business, Big Impact
Did you know there are 1.24 million women-owned businesses across the United States, 99% of which operate as small businesses with less than 500 employees?
Small business owners are also known for creating a legacy that’s often built on a customer-friendly approach, one that earns more loyalty and trust than larger, autonomous businesses.
But operating a small business is tough these days! Whether it’s riding the waves of a turbulent economy or staying true to their ethos instead of sacrificing quality for quantity, entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart.
Support Small
That’s why community support is more important than ever. Show your appreciation to our small business owners by shopping local first, even if it’s as simple as making one purchase from them instead of Amazon.
But you can support them without using your wallet, too. Leave a positive review on Yelp, Google, or Facebook, subscribe to their newsletters, or share, subscribe, and engage with their social media channels. Spread the word to family and friends!
We're so happy that our community supports Upton’s amazing network of women entrepreneurs and business/community leaders, including:
- Odette Lambert – Cowboy Bar
- Debbie Douglas – Arrow Gas & Service
- Jackie Gustof and Buffy Wirth – Joe’s Food Center
- Mikie Remington – Remy’s Diner
- Bridgette Hodson – Unker’s
- Lisa LeVasseur – Weston County Gazette
- Eileen Nistler – Award-winning artist
- Bailey Perrish – Crackel Artworks
- Chelsie Gerber – Iyan Kara Riders
- Shelley Sutherland – General Manager, Iron Creek Inn & Suites
